SEATTLE, March 6, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- International Community Health Services (ICHS) Foundation raised more than $275,000 for its Uncompensated Care Fund at the Health Care for All Benefit on Thursday, February 26, 2026. ICHS, a federally qualified health care center, provides health care services regardless of a person's ability to pay.
In 2026, ICHS Foundation forecasts a 15 percent increase in need for uncompensated health care services and medicines due to rising costs and demand from patients. Funds raised at the benefit luncheon compose about half of the annual fund. Donations to the ICHS Foundation's Uncompensated Care Fund can still be made on the ICHS website.
"At ICHS we do not turn anyone away regardless of their ability to pay," says ICHS CEO Kelli Nomura. "We believe health care is a human right, and being able to access care is fundamental to the dignity of each person."
ICHS cares for 36,000 patients annually. ICHS is rooted in Seattle's AAPI community. The organization considers the immigrant experience, emphasizing linguistically aligned and culturally competent care, which is offered in 90 languages at ICHS clinic locations.
"The way patients access ICHS Foundation's Uncompensated Care Fund varies," says Nomura. "A patient with very low income may need help with $5 or $10 to purchase necessary medication. Then, there are patients with complex needs that require ongoing treatment. The ICHS Foundation's Uncompensated Care Fund means we assure patients they can receive the health care services and lifesaving medications they need regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay."
